Guillermo del Toro presenta MAMÁ, un thriller sobrenatural que cuenta la escalofriante historia de dos niñas que desaparecieron en el bosque el mismo día en que sus padres fueron asesinados. Años después son rescatadas y empiezan una nueva vida, pero descubren que alguien o algo sigue queriendo arroparlas por la noche.
Hace cinco años, las hermanas Victoria y Lilly desaparecieron de la urbanización donde vivían sin dejar rastro. Su tío Lucas (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) y su novia Annabel (Jessica Chastain) las han buscado sin cesar desde entonces. Cuando ocurre lo imposible y las niñas aparecen en una cabaña medio derruida, la pareja empieza a preguntarse si no habrán acogido a alguien además de a las niñas.
Annabel intenta ofrecer una vida normal a sus sobrinas, pero poco a poco se convence de que hay una presencia malévola en la casa. ¿Sufren las hermanas de estrés traumático o viene un fantasma a visitarlas? ¿Cómo pudieron sobrevivir totalmente solas durante cinco años? When they are rescued years later and begin a new life, they find that someone or something still wants to come tuck them in at night.
The day their father killed their mother, sisters Victoria and Lilly vanished near their suburban neighborhood. For five long years, their Uncle Lucas (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and his girlfriend, Annabel (Jessica Chastain), have been madly searching for them. But when, incredibly, the kids are found alive in a decrepit cabin, the couple wonders if the girls are the only guests they have welcomed into their home.
As Annabel tries to introduce the children to a normal life, she grows convinced of an evil presence in their house. Are the sisters experiencing traumatic stress, or is a ghost coming to visit them? How did the broken girls survive those years all by themselves? As she answers these disturbing questions, the new mother will find that the whispers she hears at bedtime are coming from the lips of a deadly presence.
